Is give them hope.

Last summer I was on a cruise liner from Auckland to Sydney, via Christchurch and Hobart. It lasted 14 days and on that boat I met one of the wisest people in my life. He taught many people on that boat many things.

We were in a small enclosed room on the cruise boat. We had something close to 7 people in the room and we were all packed like sardines. It was just for the night but in a room with no natural lighting at all, time has no meaning. Time revolved around our energy, not the positioning of the Earth.

And he spoke. He told us of things which we saw day to day but never really understood or took notice of. His final point, and the summary point is - The cruelest thing a girl can do to a guy is to give them hope.

Guys can be relentless entities. Our 'lack of emotions' often translates to an abnormally large emotional strength and a solidity that will never rot. When a girl gives a guy hope, he will go for her. Every part of his body will say "go for her, she likes you". When he moves forward and returns her signals, he will not wait until he get's a return.

If the girl were to stop, and turn around and walk away, the guy will chase after her. The guy can chase for a long time. An exceptionally long time. And until another more 'suitable' girl were to come up or if the tides of time turn red, he will not give up.

If the guy were to come to terms with himself and stop and let her walk away, let him do so. For if you stop him, the process will repeat itself.

This is a timely process. This endless spiral can last forever. It will never end. And in the frail middle age period of the guys life, he will realize his life has been wasted and a bitter taste will enter his mouth.

So don't fuck with guys. Guys are told relentlessly not to toy with girls yet apparently girls do not know that guys follow the same principles.
